IT Visionary
"Implementing the award-winning enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System was truly satisfying for me. It is encouraging that Singapore is right up there with the 'big boys' like UK and US in advancing biometric and border security technology. I'm glad to be a part of this exciting journey."
- Shirley Chow,
Head of IT Applications,
Immigration and Checkpoints Authority
Cyber-Security Specialist
"Hackers are ever on the prowl in cyberspace. As IDA's IT Security Consultant, my responsibility is to ensure the integrity of our critical government systems.
As infocomm usage and adoption becomes more pervasive, it gets more challenging to secure a system - and I like that challenge."
- Clement Leong,
Deputy Director,
Infocomm Security & Trust Division
Infocomm Technologist
"I have the rare opportunity to handle the S$1.3 billion government-wide Standard Infocomm Technology Operating Environment (SOEasy) programme.
With SOEasy, public officers will seamlessly collaborate across multiple agencies and even across geographical regions, leveraging on innovative services to enhance their work productivity."
- Chia Wee Luen,
Senior Consultant,
SOE Programme Management Office
Techno-Strategist
"I've had opportunities to work at various ministries, bringing enhanced efficiency to work processes through the use of infocomm technology. It is relatively easy to change equipment, but it takes a lot more to change mindsets. When the initial resistance changed to "We can't live without infocomm!", that's when I know we
have succeeded."
- Donald Lum,
Infocomm Technology Solutioning Manager,
Government Chief Information Office(GCIO)
We aim to place Singapore at the number 1 spot in the world in harnessing infocomm, to triple our infocomm export revenue and achieve 100% computer ownership in homes with school-going children.
These are a few of the ambitious goals we have set in iN2015, our 10-year infocomm masterplan. We also want to maintain and enhance Singapore's global leadership in the field of infocomm. To this end, we will be building the ultra-high speed Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure (Next Gen NII).
At IDA, we lead Singapore’s drive into the future where infocomm technology is ingrained into every aspect of life, business and government. The work we do is inspiring, and more than just about IT. It is about national transformation and it is about influencing and shaping the course of future generations with the use of new technologies.
We must have creative, ambitious and dynamic teams in place to drive this new vision.
