Award-Winning e-Services From LTA

LTA's latest innovation endeavour is e-Services@ONE.MOTORING, which was introduced in February 2006. Sited at the ONE.MOTORING Web portal, it has enhanced the portal by providing motorists, members of the motoring industry, car enthusiasts and road users with a wide array of motoring and traffic information conveniently located in a single hub, delivering integrated services through collaboration with the private sector to exploit new opportunities to provide content and create new value for motorists and the motor industry, while improving internal cost effectiveness and administrative efficiency.

Out of the 5,000 respondents in a recent customer satisfaction survey on LTA's ONE.MOTORING portal, more than 90% of users were satisfied with various aspects of the portal.

Said Ms Toh Ah Quee, Operations Manager of Marine Boat Charter in Malaysia: "From the comfort of my home, e-Services@ONE.MOTORING allows me to access vehicle-related information anywhere, anytime. This ensures that I do not have any outstanding matters with LTA especially when I'm not home frequently to receive any reminders sent via post. At least I can now renew my road tax while I'm away from Singapore. The access speed is also reasonably fast."

Some 55,000 transactions are processed every day at ONE.MOTORING. In fact, the portal was named Singapore's no. 1 automotive website by HITWISE SG Online Automotive Research

Developing e-Services@ONE.MOTORING involved not only a complete system upgrade but also an extensive re-engineering of LTA's existing business processes. By reviewing customer feedback, operational policies, existing workflows and processes, and industrial business practices, LTA was able to streamline several cumbersome business processes that lacked transparency. The result: a one-stop, integrated e-services system that meets the needs of all parties.

Mr Ong Chee An, Distribution & Business Development Manager at Borneo Motors (S), appreciates LTA for taking users' views into consideration. He said: "Feedback sessions with LTA resulted in an efficient registration module. There are many fields with drop-down list selection, hence minimising typographical errors. Overall, the portal saves time and we now no longer need to rush documents to LTA."

The e-service is a winner of the National Infocomm Award (Merit) from the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore in 2006 for the most innovative use of infocomm technology (ICT) in the public sector.
