MP Biomedical Singapore was pending office relocation in March 2008, with the presence of their Senior Technical Manager, Joseph Ruiz from US HQ and Singapore’s Finance Director, Lission Tan, NxGen together with Avaya presented a proposal and demo and this have indeed caught their interest and sets the history of their working relationship.
To transit from their old 10-15 years old Panasonic system into Avaya IP Telephony system, a proposal was carefully selected with the set up of server, S8300 and media gateway of G450, for 35 sets of 1608 and 15 sets of 9620.
The transition allows them have more control over the administration of the system & with more features available, they were able to operate and perform which wasn’t never an option before!
Features that were previously unavailable are for e.g. Auto-attendant, which lightens the load of the receptionist and allow her to pick up more duties and be more productive and competitive in undertake more roles.
Other feature includes an intuitive user interface which helps to make users proficient and confident in performing common telephone tasks such as setting up a conference call or completing a transfer.
With enhanced high-fidelity audio, it’s much easier to hear and understand other people which speeds business while reducing fatigue and stress. The one-X Deskphone models are built with future growth and enhancement in mind - protecting investments and leading to improved total cost of ownership.
Currently only their Singapore office is on Avaya solution, but eventually, they may consider putting their US office on Avaya too, since Joseph sees the value of IP Tel & the ability to network their offices together to drive productivity and competitiveness.
MP Biomedical is so convince and impressed not only with the capability of Avaya products and solutions, the real challenge in kicking off such a transition is more then just hooking up the products to their system!
The main challenge was when Joseph had to travel back to US and left the project to the purchaser of MP Biomedical, Mr Goh. NxGen had to guide & explain to Mr Goh on the technical implications on the voice and also data infrastructure issues. We had to assist Goh with the various challenges/technical questions that he faced.
The 2nd challenge came when their data & structured cabling vendor attempt to propose another competitive solution, however, we managed to step in and convince MP Biomedical that Avaya is a more robust & a much reliable solution to their global businesses. NxGen has rendered any assistance to their data vendor to ensure that it is a seamless effort, even though there were 2 different teams working on the voice & data implementation.
NxGen initiated an extra step to put in a temporary system for MP Biomedical for the transition period before their actual system arrived. This professionalism and commitment have indeed resulted in believing in Avaya and NxGen’s commitment and dedication to MP Biomedical Singapore and their global offices as well.
