Programmes
  • National Authentication Framework (NAF)
The National Authentication Framework (NAF), spearheaded by IDA, with support from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Ministry of Finance, will be a nationwide platform where consumers can enjoy consistent experience in using strong authentication to access key online services and a more rigorous process of verifying online identities. With NAF, online service providers such as government agencies and financial institutions will be able to outsource their second-factor authentication infrastructure to trusted third parties authentication operators.

  • Next Generation National Broadband Network (NBN)
Singapore's Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure comprises the ultra high-speed Next Generation NBN and the pervasive Wireless Broadband Network (WBN). The Next Gen NBN will entrench Singapore's Infocomm hub status and open the doors to new economic opportunities, business growth and social vibrancy for the country. Next Gen NBN will be capable of ultra high speeds of symmetric 1Gbps or more.

  • Singapore Internet Exchange
The proposed Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX) will be a neutral Internet Exchange that enhances the Internet environment for local and international IP traffic. It seeks to establish multiple nodes in different sites throughout Singapore that will form the core of the Internet Exchange. It would play an important role in deployment of services over the Next Generation National Broadband Network by allowing the efficient exchange of traffic, reducing latency and ensuring sustainable performance for bandwidth-intensive services to be optimally delivered to the end-users. Once ready, self-regulation and shared ownership of SGIX would ensure its alignment to the interests of its members.

  • Wireless Broadband Network
Singapore’s Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure comprises both wired and wireless networks to ensure Singaporeans enjoy seamless connectivity.  To complement the Next Generation National Broadband Network, the Wireless Broadband Network will be deployed in key catchment areas around Singapore and offer wireless access at highly affordable rates under a Wireless Broadband Market Development Call-For-Collaboration.

  • Wireless@SG Programme
Wireless@SG is a wireless broadband programme developed by IDA as part of its Next Generation National Infocomm Infrastructure initiative. It is run by three local wireless operators - iCELL Network, QMax Communications and SingTel. Users can enjoy free, both indoor and outdoor seamless wireless broadband access with speeds of up to 1 Mbps at public areas.
