National Grid

The National Grid will facilitate the seamless use of an integrated cyber infrastructure in a secure, effective and efficient manner with the longer term goal of transforming the Singapore economy using infocomm services over the grid.

Plans for the National Grid are part of the overall Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) ICT Master Plan. Under the masterplan, IDA intends to develop an infocomm resource marketplace (IRM) in Singapore, where a major component involves industry participants provisioning compute and storage using grid as an underlying architecture on a utility pricing model. The flexibility that the IRM offers would enable new business delivery models and encourage innovation of infocomm services.

Towards this end, IDA launched a Call-For-Collaboration (CFC) for Grid Services Provisioning on 23 November 2007 to invite interested parties to submit proposals for the provisioning of software, compute and storage utility in Singapore.

Invitation to Register Expressions of Interest (EOI) to Participate in the Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed Project

IDA is launching the Expressions of Interest (EOI) on 15 September 2008 to gather and assess the industry’s interest in participating in the Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed project. Through the EOI, IDA also aims to get inputs on R&D and application projects that could be developed. By registering your company's interest, IDA will be able to provide you with invitations to Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed industry networking events. The list of EOI registrants is published on this website to facilitate industry collaboration, training and networking.

The EOI is open to all interested researchers and developers in Singapore-based universities, research institutes, and enterprises.  It is entirely voluntary and registration is not a pre-requisite to participation in Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed project. The EOI does not construe a commitment by either IDA or the registrant, to the latter’s participation in the Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed project.

If you are keen to register your organisation or company's interest, please email your company's details to ida_grid@ida.gov.sg by 6th October 2008.

Please e-mail with subject header "Cirrus Cloud Computing Testbed EOI" and include the following:

1) Company name,
2) Business category,
3) Size of company,
4) Corporate e-mail and website,
5) Location of head office; and
