Open Call for Cloud Computing Proposals

As part of efforts in promoting the adoption of Cloud Computing, IDA is calling for interested parties to submit their proposals for innovative cloud based projects. This call is launched on 4 May 2010.

Objectives

The objectives of this call are:

• To support innovative projects that will help achieve the following outcomes :
  • Enable infocomm infrastructure development for iN2015 vertical clusters (such as digital media, life sciences, manufacturing, financial services, retail & tourism, education, & government).
  • Support specific lighthouse projects which would illustrate and promote the use of the infrastructure in the iN2015 verticals.
  • Establish Singapore as a Shared Services Hub.
  • Enable local users, especially SMEs, to exploit SaaS for HR, finance, IT & other admin functions.
  • Support infocomm capability development.
• To promote adoption of Cloud Computing in Singapore.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants for the call are as listed below:

• Government Agencies and Organisations (listed under www.gov.sg)
• Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes
• Singapore-registered companies

Proposal Submission

Depending on the impact and scope of the project, selected projects will be supported in terms of in terms of utilized compute and storage resources based on the approved duration and quantum of cloud services (compute core-hours and storage GB-months) from one of the participating Cloud Service Providers. The funding will not be in the form of cash. The levels of support are as follow:

• Selected projects from "Government Agencies and Organisations" will be given 100% support.
  
  
• Co-payment support will be given to other selected projects, i.e., IDA provides 50% support, while the remaining 50% needs to be paid by the successful applicant at the prevailing compute and storage resources rates.
