Grid Services Provisioning Call-For-Collaboration

To extend high performance computing, storage and software facilities to all businesses, especially SMEs, the IDA has launched a Call-For-Collaboration (CFC) on 23 November 2007. The CFC will bring together keen Grid service providers and independent software vendors, via the formation of a consortium or consortia, to provide related infocomm resources on a pay-per-use basis, so that hefty investments for Grid capabilities will no longer be needed, and more firms can leverage on Grid to develop new, innovative business models and infocomm services.

Objectives

The objectives of this Call-For-Collaboration (CFC) are to:

  1. Develop the ISV Ecosystems that will enable "Software as a Service" applications to flourish, and establish Singapore as the "Shared Services Hub" of Asia.
  2. Accelerate the deployment of software, compute and storage utility provisioning by making available software, compute and storage resources to users in the public and private sectors on a utility basis.
  3. Catalyse the demand for software, compute and storage utility provisioning by increasing the number of users in the public and private sectors.

Extension of Submission Deadline

IDA will be extending the deadline for the submission of proposals for the Grid Services Provisioning Call-for-Collaboration to 1700hrs, 18 February 2008
