The National Trust Council (NTC) is an industry-led body with government supporting the mission to build confidence in e-transactions among businesses and consumers so as to facilitate e-commerce growth in Singapore. The NTC implemented the TrustSg Programme, a national trust mark initiative that aims to promote good e-business practices and heighten awareness of trust marks among businesses and consumers.
A trust mark is an endorsement by an independent party certifying that a company adheres to high commercial standards specified in the codes of practice governed by an independent party. It is a symbol of sound e-business practices. An e-commerce site bearing the mark is one that understands and values the importance of data privacy and online security, and adheres to the approved code of conduct for doing business over the Internet.
