IDA Raises Quality of Service Standards for 3G Mobile Services to Improve Consumer Experience
30 January 2012 - The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) is raising the minimum quality of service (QoS) standards for 3G mobile services in phases with effect from 1 April 2012 so that consumers can benefit from better quality of 3G mobile services.

IDA Significantly Reduces Licence Fees for Most Facilities-Based Operators and Services-Based Operators
24 November 2011 - The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has revised the annual licence fees payable by its licensed Facilities-based Operators1 (FBOs) and Services-Based Operators2 (Individual) (SBOs). The revision will result in a significant reduction of FBO and SBO licence fees for a large majority of licensees, including small to medium sized licensees.

11 November 2011 - To encourage students to find out more about infocomm and an education in infocomm, a nation-wide contest "Can't Live Without Tech!" has been launched. Students can participate by submitting a 1-minute video that showcases the importance of technology in their lives, along with a short description.

IDA and Industry Collaborate on Interoperable NFC Infrastructure for Mobile Payment Services
25 October 2011 -From the middle of 2012, consumers can 'tap' and pay for their purchases at more than 20,000 retail points and taxis using their Near Field Communication1 (NFC)-enabled mobile phones. Businesses can also provide interactive and targeted contents to consumers through NFC-enabled digital signages located at more than 600 locations in major shopping malls and office buildings throughout Singapore.

79 Infocomm Scholarships Awarded to Secondary and Tertiary School Students
30 July 2011 - A total of 79 students from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics and universities received their awards for the National Infocomm Scholarship ("NIS") and Integrated Infocomm Scholarship ("IIS") today. Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, presented 31 awards for the NIS and Mr Chan Yeng Kit, Permanent Secretary for Information, Communications and the Arts, gave out the 48 awards for the IIS at the School of The Arts.
