Singapore Hosts 39th Meeting of the APECTEL Working Group
IDA recently hosted the 39th meeting of the APEC Telecommunications & Information Working Group (APECTEL 39) in Singapore. More than 250 officials and telecom regulators from 21 APEC Member Economies gathered to discuss and exchange views on issues such as broadband deployment, development of new technologies, mutual recognition arrangement and resiliency of the cyberspace.

IDA Appoints Senior Director for Industry Development
The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has appointed Mr Andrew Khaw as Senior Director (Industry Development) with effect from 2 February 2009. Mr Khaw oversees the Industry Development Division as well as programmes for the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and the Digital Media & Entertainment sectors.

iWhiz Grand Finals 2007: "If I Can Survive iWhiz, I Can Survive Anything!" Says Singapore's First iWhiz
It was 10 episodes of friendly teasing, some competitive hostility and even a hint of budding romance building in the air. By the end of Episode 9, only three competitors were left standing – Ms Olivia Chiu, 19, Mr Tay Kang Xun, 21 and Ms Fong Hui Fen, 18. With the teams dissolved, competitors faced in the final showdown. In the end, 19-year-old Olivia Chiu was named the winner of Singapore’s first infocomm reality game show.
