8-Digit Numbering Plan

This circular was reproduced in International Telecommunication Union's1(ITU)Operational Bulletin No. 734 on 15 February 2001. The purpose of this bulletin was to inform our regulatory counterparts in other countries that Singapore is adopting the 8-digit numbering format in March 2002.

Interoperator Testing among Facilities Based Operators (FBO) and Service Based Operators (SBO)

The period from 1 December 2001 till 28 February 2002 has been set aside for interoperator testing. Below are information on the procedures and testing arrangements.

Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) Testing

The period from 1 Jan 2002 till 31 Mar 2002 (period where calls to both 7 and 8-digit numbers will be put through) has been set aside for the reprogramming/testing of the CPE. Below are information on the procedures and testing arrangements.
