Three companies: Keppel Communications Pte Ltd, 1-Net Pte Ltd and Pacific Internet Ltd, had requested for and obtained IDA's approval to conduct field trials using FWB technologies, between February and December 2000, in selected parts of Singapore. IDA had required as one of the conditions for approving the trial application, that these companies share the results of their field trials with the local industry, so that all could benefit from the experiences and knowledge gained.
