IDA has arrived at its Preliminary Decision on SingTel's exemption request for the business and government customer segment and individual markets. Interested parties are invited to submit their views and comments on the Preliminary Decision to IDA.
All views and comments should be submitted in softcopy (preferably in Microsoft Word format) by 12 noon, 23 September 2008. Respondents should include their personal or company particulars, correspondence address, contact number and email address in their submissions. All comments should be addressed to:

Notice: IDA thanks the commenters for the substantive and constructive feedback received by IDA on the public consultation on SingTel's request for exemption. Pursuant to Sub-section 2.5.2 of the Telecom Competition Code 2005, IDA will seek to issue its preliminary decision, with respect to a request for exemption from special provisions applicable to Dominant Licensees, within 90 days from the close of public consultation. However, given the extensiveness of the review of SingTel's request for exemption, and the extra time required by the industry to collate and provide the data requested by IDA for the review, IDA has decided to extend the period of the review to allow more time for data collection and analysis, and for a thorough and comprehensive review. IDA aims to issue a preliminary decision as soon as possible, and will seek further public comment on the preliminary decision before making a final decision.
Notice: IDA has received requests from the industry to extend the deadline for the submission of comments to the public consultation on "SingTel's Exemption Request for the Business and Government Customer Segment and Individual Markets". IDA will grant an extension of 3 weeks from the original deadline. All responses must be submitted to IDA by 12 noon, 18 January 2008.
