Many iLEs have matured over the years and developed successful infocomm products and services. With further development and positioning, these offerings have the potential to be successful in overseas markets. However, the iLEs' ability to scale up is constrained by the small local market, lack of overseas branding and business networks to put their products on the world stage.
ODP serves as a key platform for iLEs to team up with leading infocomm MNCs or major local enterprises with established international presence, to tap into overseas markets beyond Singapore.
Since 2002, ODP has helped iLEs gain more than $123 million export revenue.
For iLEs:
- Leverage the technology capabilities and business connections (such as in-country channel partners and resellers) of market leaders to penetrate new markets overseas; and
- Enhance their overseas market positions through joint sales calls and marketing activities with their lead partners to boost the confidence of potential overseas clients in their companies' products and solutions.
For MNCs or major local enterprises with established international presence:
- Embed their technologies in iLEs' innovative products and solutions for regional and/ or global reach; and
- Leverage on iLEs' software products and solutions in specific industry domains to complement their in-country partners for international projects.
