Enhanced Learning in Infocomm Technology (ELITe)

Objective

The Enhanced Learning in Infocomm Technology (ELITe) is a talent development programme that aims to develop "industry-ready" infocomm graduates. A core group of university undergraduates will be given opportunities to acquire practical exposure through industry attachments, mentorship, projects and skills development through certifications.

Programme Description

Undergraduates participating in the programme will have opportunities to obtain:

  • Exposure to infocomm policy thinking;
  • Mentorship from industry leaders;
  • Local and/or overseas industry internship;
  • Training and development in technical skills, soft skills, domain knowledge which are in demand by the industry; and
  • Industry awareness and exposure when working on industry-relevant projects.

Benefits

ELITe offers a range of opportunities for students to increase their industry awareness and exposure. Through exposure to infocomm policy thinking, internship and project opportunities with industry partners, students will gain valuable practical experience to complement the knowledge acquired through their coursework.

Students can also tap on their industry mentor's insights to understand industry trends, and seek guidance from their mentors in areas related to infocomm and even career development.

Such opportunities empower students to initiate and accelerate their own development with support from the universities, their mentor and IDA. Students who actively make use of such opportunities will be able to gain industry perspectives and develop in-demand skills which will place them in good stead upon graduation.

Programme Support

IDA is supporting this programme in various ways including identifying industry mentors, funding the cost of certification programmes and overseas internships.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Infocomm undergraduates who have completed first year of infocomm studies and eligible to be promoted to second year of studies;
  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents; and
  • Not a current scholarship holder.

Infocomm undergraduates who are interested in the programme can find out more from their schools' undergraduate office.
