Integrated Infocomm Scholarship (IIS)

Introduction

The Integrated Infocomm Scholarship (IIS) is now open to outstanding 'O' level students to pursue polytechnic-cum-university studies in infocomm-related courses.

This unique scholarship programme will take you through your infocomm studies at both the polytechnic and university levels. Along the way, the programme will also benefit you in many ways, such as providing you the opportunity for valuable industry attachments to major infocomm corporations locally and overseas.

Scholarship Coverage

The scope of the IIS programme covers 2 main areas - infocomm studies at the polytechnic level and at the university level.

(I) Polytechnic Level

  • Full polytechnic tuition fees at a local polytechnic for infocomm-related courses
  • 1 overseas and / or multiple local attachment(s) of up to 6 months in infocomm-related jobs during your course of study, covering the following:
    • Monthly attachment allowance
    • Settling-in allowance (for overseas attachment only)
    • Warm clothing allowance (for overseas attachment only)
    • Insurance & medical checkup (as required)
    • Economy-class return airfare (for overseas attachment only)
  • Annual allowance
  • One-off computer allowance

(II) University Level

IIS scholars will have 2 possible options to pursue infocomm-related degree courses at university level.

Option 1 - Continue under IIS

  • Full university tuition fees at a local university (i.e., NUS, NTU, SMU) for infocomm-related degree courses
  • Local internship opportunities in an infocomm-related job of up to 6 months during course of study, including monthly attachment allowances
  • Funding to attend developmental courses
  • Annual allowance
  • One-off computer allowance

Option 2 - Apply for National Infocomm Scholarship (NIS)

Alternatively, IIS scholars can also apply for the NIS programme for sponsorship of their university studies. If IIS scholars are successfully selected for NIS, the terms and conditions of NIS will apply accordingly.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Possess outstanding "O" Level results
  • Have a good Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) record
  • Possess a strong interest in the infocomm industry

Terms & Conditions

Successful applicants will be required to:

  • Read an infocomm-related course at any of one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore
  • Read & graduate with an infocomm-related degree at university level thereafter
  • The following conditions will apply if applicants take up IIS:
Scholarship Bond Service Performance Requirements
IIS - Polytechnic Level 3 year bond

Scholars will be legally bonded to IDA and will serve their bond in the infocomm industry, undertaking an infocomm-related job approved by IDA.

IDA will facilitate job-matching opportunities upon graduation from university.
Upon graduation from polytechnic, scholars must gain admission into a local university to read & graduate with an infocomm-related degree.
IIS - University Level Graduate with a GPA of 3.8 or Cap 4.0 or at least a 2nd upper honours.
