National Infocomm Competition

Objective

The National Infocomm Competition (NIC) is a series of infocomm-themed competitions focusing in areas such as business IT, digital media, mobile technology, programming and security. The NIC aims to generate greater awareness and excitement among students and the public and to attract and nurture young talent into the dynamic field of infocomm.

Programme Description

There are three different circuits, namely, Secondary School, Junior College and Polytechnic/Institute of Technical Education. Schools form teams and compete in the various challenges in their circuits. Points are awarded to the top few schools in each challenge. For each circuit, the school with the highest accumulated points will be the circuit champion.

Benefits

The circuit champions will be sponsored by Microsoft on a knowledge acquisition trip to Microsoft's Redmond campus where they will meet leading scientists and learn the latest technology trends and research areas from them.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, Polytechnics and INstitute of Technical Education.
