
The Infocomm@SeaPort Programme is a joint initiative by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) and the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) to catalyse business transformation and operational excellence in the port community through infocomm. WIreless-broadband-access at SEaPORT (or WISEPORT) is the first project under the programme, and seeks to deploy a WiMAX Network that will cover Singapore’s port waters and surrounding coastal areas.
MPA and IDA jointly invite the industry to participate in the WISEPORT Content and Applications Call for Collaboration (CA CFC) for the seaport sector. This CA CFC aims to bring the seaport community and the solution providers together to develop and launch innovative content and applications on WISEPORT.
The intent of the Contents and Applications Call-For-Collaboration is to encourage the early development of innovative content, applications and services on WISEPORT.
The CA CFC will encourage the development of a wide range of WiMAX service offerings for the seaport community. The services that can be provided include, but are not limited to:

Content delivery to consumers at sea, eg video channels, ship schedule information, video-on-demand. |

Specialised ship-shore applications, eg regulatory reporting, maritime service booking. |
| Diagnostics |
Automated diagnostics and maintenance tools, eg ship status reports, maintenance testing/monitoring etc. |
| Security |
Enhances safety, security and traceability of goods and personnel, eg surveillance, personnel and goods tracking. |
| Logistics |
Enhances logistics information flow and visibility in operations, eg track-and-trace, transport management. |
| Remote Systems |
Enables man-less operators in remote locations, eg Automated Guided Vehicles and Remote Crane Controls. |
| Others |
Applications that will expand WiMAX coverage or enhance effectiveness of use. |
The CFC was closed on the 6th February 2008. A total of 19 submissions were received, and 5 projects were awarded under the CFC.

A public briefing and industry networking session was held on 7 January 2008 where the Agencies shared more information on the CA CFC with interested parties. The WISEPORT Infrastructure Operator (Qmax Communications Pte Ltd) also presented on their rollout plans and support for WISEPORT Content and Application Service Providers (CASP) at the briefing.
