Silver PC Incentive Programmes
"Silver PC Incentive" is a training incentive programme whereby senior citizens who have completed minimally 30 hours of IT training at Silver Infocomm Junctions (SIJs) are able to enjoy the benefit of paying S$100 less for a PC bundle purchased under the Silver Gen PC Specials. Each senior citizen can enjoy this incentive only once.
The first 8,000 Singapore Citizens (holder of pink NRIC) who:
If you have not yet been issued a training logbook (or Passport), you may collect one from an SIJ when you next complete an IT course. You will be required to produce your NRIC as proof of your age. With each completed training, the SIJ staff will update the logbook with training details, endorsing it with an official SIJ stamp and signing against it. Upon the completion of the minimum requirement of 30 training hours, you can bring the logbook to any of the appointed vendors to offset $100 against the price of a PC bundle from the "Silver PC Specials".
A Passport is the training logbook which records all training courses completed by the owner. The Passport is issued by an SIJ to a trainee who has completed an IT course at the SIJ. The trainee must be a Singapore citizen who is at least 50 years old.
The Passport should only be updated by an SIJ staff upon the completion of subsequent IT courses taken by the owner of the Passport. The SIJ staff will update the Passport with the training details, stamp and sign against it.
All eligible senior citizens must redeem the S$100 training incentive for a PC bundle under the Silver Gen PC Specials no later than 31 March 2013. Please note the redemption is on a first- come-first-served basis and only the first 8000 eligible senior citizens will be entitled to redeem the incentive.
Yes, we will recognise all completed training hours at SIJs starting from 1 June 2010, as long as you are eligible (ie you are at least 50 years old when you commence on the first course.) Please proceed to the SIJ where you have completed the course to request for a training logbook and endorsement of the completed training hours.
Only Singapore Citizens who are 50 years and above are eligible to collect a training logbook (or passport). Since you have just turned 50 years old on 1 August 2010, only courses taken on or after 1 August 2010 will be considered and counted against the 30 training hours to qualify for the incentive.
Repeated course will only be recognised once in the counting of the total IT training hours.
The training logbook is valid for one year starting from the date of the first course completed at an SIJ. Eg If you completed your first course on 15 August 2010, with the details of the course recorded in the training logbook, you must accumulate at least 30 hours of completed training hours by 14 August 2011 to be eligible to redeem the $100 off when you purchase a PC bundle under the Silver PC Specials.
Each senior citizen should only hold ONE valid training logbook at any one time. As such, there would be no need for logbooks to be combined. Please ensure that you bring the same training logbook for endorsement upon the completion of subsequent IT training at SIJs. Note also that the training logbooks are only valid for ONE year starting from the first course taken.
