SME Infocomm Package Call-For-Collaboration

To accelerate infocomm adoption among the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), IDA launched a Call-For-Collaboration (CFC) on 7 November 2007 for vendors via the formation of a consortium or consortia, to provide one-stop infocomm packages to help SMEs harness the potential of infocomm to operate more efficiently and grow their businesses.

Under the SME Infocomm Package (SIP) initiative, SMEs are able to seek useful advice on how to introduce infocomm technology in their business, purchase affordable infocomm solutions and enjoy the convenient one stop support from the consortia awarded via the CFC. IDA will also provide a subsidy to at least 5,000 SMEs when they take up these packages on a first come first serve basis.

Milestones of CFC

The CFC was launched on 7 November 2007.

Two Public Briefings were held on the 15 and 19 November 2007; and a Networking session was held on 22 November 2007 for companies to network and clarify on the CFC.

In response to the popular demand, a directory listing of companies interested in this CFC was published on 28 November and updated regularly. This list has facilitated forging of partnerships amongst interested companies.

The CFC closed on 8 January 2008 with an overwhelming response. 31 proposals were received. The award will be officially announced in June 2008.
