Mr Ang Kwang Tat: The award was significant to ANTlabs as it gave our product and company recognition after having spent many years investing in R&D

In 2008, Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (ANTlabs) won the 2008 National Infocomm Award (NIA) for Most Innovative Product/Service for its Securite security suite. Since then, it has gained a higher profile in the IT industry and gone on to secure several major customers.

“The award was significant to ANTlabs as it gave our product and company recognition after having spent many years investing in R&D and coming up with innovative solutions,” said Mr Ang Kwang-Tat, Co-founder, ANTlabs. “NIA has given ANTlabs a higher profile in the IT industry and also the chance to participate in nationwide projects such as the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN), and the expansion of Wireless@SG.”

As a company, ANTlabs innovates and develops consumer endpoint security solutions and end-to-end secured network access products. It is particularly well-known for its robust gateway solutions used by major telecommunications operators and hospitality institutions worldwide.

The company’s Securite is a proactive transaction-based online security suite which prevents security breaches before they occur. By employing a white-list, transaction-based methodology, it unobtrusively yet effectively protects the end user over the entire online transaction, providing a secure means to conduct business over the web.

“When it was first announced, everyone at ANTlabs felt extremely proud and happy that our Securite software had won the 2008 NIA,” said Mr Ang. “It was coincidental that our company was also celebrating the 9th anniversary of incorporation around the same time.”

That same year, ANTLabs secured two major projects including Changi Airport’s deployment of Securite, and a separate deployment of its wireless solutions by Belgian-based wireless provider, Citymesh.

It has also participated in nationwide projects such as the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network and the expansion of Wireless@SG infrastructure. “We recently launched Single Sign-on Access software to unify the Wireless@SG access across all the operators that incorporated key security features from our Securite software,” said Mr Ang. “We are also seeing more business with SingTel, StarHub and MobileOne, and we’ve also started project discussions with other regional telcos in Asia, the United States and the Middle East since last year.”
