To ensure that Singapore stays ahead of the technology innovation and adoption curve, IDA constantly monitors the infocomm landscape and charts the way forward for the country through our infocomm masterplans and technology roadmaps.
To create a pro-consumer and pro-business infocomm environment, IDA formulates infocomm-related policies, standards, codes of practice and advisory guidelines aimed at leveling the playing field for infocomm service providers and empowering consumers and businesses with more choices.
IDA plays an active role in developing Singapore’s pool of globally-competitive infocomm talent and an infocomm-savvy workforce. We are also focused on driving consumer education initiatives, ensuring digital inclusion and supporting the effective use of infocomm in community outreach efforts.
IDA's national role is to identify and facilitate the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance Singapore's competitiveness and to drive economic growth.
IDA aims to create a vibrant startup ecosystem, spur the inorganic growth of the industry and deliver manpower development programmes to meet the needs of the ICT sector.
This series of technical meetings will see about 150 participants from 14 ITU member states and 36 organisations congregating in Singapore for the first time to discuss the development of global IoT standards.
